Die Teilnahme an der Datenerhebung für das KF-Register ist eine der obligatorischen Aufgaben der KF-Referenzzentren. Ziel des Registers ist die Untersuchung epidemiologischer Aspekte von CF in Belgien, die Stärkung der Rolle des Registers bei der Bewertung der Qualität der Versorgung von CF-Patienten, die Bereitstellung einer Datenbank für wissenschaftliche Forschung für CF-Forscher und die Teilnahme am Europäischen CF-Patientenregister (EGASPR) und anderen internationalen Projekten.
